Venice
Venice is a living museum, its rich blend of Byzantine Renaissance and Gothic architecture framing a labyrinth of canals and waterways, narrow lanes, alleys and quiet corners, justifiably popular it attracts around 10 million visitors a year.
Venice manages to retain a serene charm – aided by the fact that no motorized transport is allowed (apart from the vaporetti or water buses) – and it is easy to escape the crowds with photo opportunities around every corner. It is a place to get hopelessly lost for a day. However, Venice isn’t all cities and crowded streets. Through the mysterious alleyways leading off from the city, endless mazes of backstreets and deserted squares, on your Venice trip, you'll find that this city is a perfect place to walk for hours on end, pretending to
know where you are.
